Great list, although I do several sets of "#7's" every morning. :)

As for stretching DVD's, I got "Magnificent Mobility" a few weeks ago, and it is truly magnificent!

Tons of dynamic stretches, along with explanations of how and why they work.

Most of those are seen daily at my gym. Even my own girlfriend routinely violates numbers 2 and 3. Unfortunately, these days, there are not many trainers around that will correct poor form. A trainer I know and respect says he has given up trying to get some of his clients to improve their form. He says they don't listen and continue in their ways regardless of what he tells them.

Unnecessary, worthless, dangerous and EXPENSIVE! Each of the machines must cost a few thousands.

The machine from #1 looks like a crane. What in the world?

"Allowing your knees to pass beyond your toes during lunges and allowing your rear to go lower than your knees on the leg press."

Does this rule of yours apply to full squats as well? They seem to be all the rage and really engage the entire lower section of the body. I'm pretty sure Grok could care less about the degree of his legs when he needed to do work. Sure, having a wide range of motion in the hips is absolutely necessary, but for those of us who can sit on our heels with no effort, why not use our full range of motion?

see here for a published perspective on full body training:

I'd completely forgot about the twists till this post reminded me. I never really see it at the gym I'm with now but at my old gym there were a couple of broom handles placed near the weight lifting benches and mirrors. Almost everytime I used a bench someone would pop up behind me in the mirror and start doing the twists. A lot of the time I had to bite my tongue so that I didn't burst out laughing and drop my weights. The whole motion just looks so comical when people do it in a fast, uncontrolled way.
